Lagniappe Brewing Company was founded by Brad and Tara Banker to create a business that we enjoy being a part of while bringing fresh, flavorful beers to Central Florida. Our recipes were formulated through a joy of homebrewing over the past ten years that included lots of enjoyable trial and error. In addition to our beers, we have also brought a piece of our south Louisiana heritage to the brewery.

What does Lagniappe mean and how do you say it? First of all, the word is pronounced (lan-yap) and it means to give a little something extra in addition to what was requested. The word is common in Louisiana culture, and we will strive to give a little extra in our beers than what our customers expect.

Is this business connected to the boy scouts? Although we respect the organization, we are not affiliated with the boy scouts. A symbol of the French Monarchy before all the beheadings and revolutions, the fleur-de-lis is ubiquitous in south Louisiana and adds a regal touch to our imagery. We intend to make our beer fit for the royal court without the elitist overtones. In addition to the fleur-de-lis, barley sheaths and hop cones frame the logo to represent the prominent ingredients in beer.
